“Be Courageous” 2021 is result of a speed painting performance I created in 6 minutes for a group of 200 women in Miami. We were all just coming out from a very challenging season of many losses, fear and pain from the pandemic and this was for me a great opportunity to again use some resources therapeutic art has when dealing with hardships.

The colorful arrows represent our ability to move forward even if at times we feel like life and circumstances are pulling us back. This is exactly how arrows work, they are pulled back, just to get enough impulse to move ahead. The Lion represents the word in which we stand, the command given to “be courageous, I have overcome the world”. It’s in His word that we have our foundations set and by His word that we find strength to keep going even during the hard times.

The whole group of women were significantly touched by this message feeling confident and encouraged to keep on going, one step at a time.

This art was a message of hope artistically expressed in a canvas through bright colors.
